Finnish poker pro Patrik Antonius is one of the most widely recognized players in poker. He started playing full time in 2002 and has banked almost $3 million in career tournament earnings. He is 1st on the Finland All Time Money List.
Patrik developed a taste for playing serious poker after he was introduced to the game online and won a satellite entry to a WSOP event. He moved to Las Vegas in 2002 and dedicated many hours to research and practice, steadily climbing the levels until he became a regular Big Game player at The Bellagio.
In 2005, Patrik cashed in two WPT tournaments. At the $9,750 Championship No-Limit Hold 'em event at the Bay 101 Shooting Stars of Poker in San Jose, he placed 15th for $40K. He then finished 12th in the $7,800 No-Limit Hold 'em Main Event, banking more than $34K. Patrick took 3rd place in the EPT €4K Main Event in Barcelona for $145K, before going on to win the EPT €4K Baden classic for $340K. He completed 2005 with his biggest tournament cash to date, placing 2nd in the WPT $15K Main Event at the Five Diamond Classic, for over $1 million.
Patrik’s outstanding record continued over the next three years, with a further nine WSOP cashes and four WPT cashes. He made the final table of the $10K Pot-Limit Omaha Championship event at the 2008 WSOP, finishing 7th for over $124K. Patrik is also a regular on televised shows “Poker After Dark” and “High Stakes Poker”. His aggressive playing style has earned him a seat amongst the “Circle of Outlaws” – a group of internationally successful players making their mark in the poker world.
