Roberto Romenello

Hailing from Wales in the UK, Roberto Romanello started playing poker in 2005 after a soccer injury left him housebound for almost three months. Inspired by watching the World Series of Poker on television, he started to play online and won a World Poker Tour prize package within his first two weeks of playing. After finishing on the bubble in the WPT event, Roberto began playing in his local casino. He gradually built his bankroll through live tournament successes and careful bankroll management.

In 2006, he travelled to Las Vegas for the WSOP Main Event. Roberto went deep and walked away with almost $40K. Just a few weeks later, he went on to win the €500 No-Limit Hold ‘em event at the 2006 Barcelona Open, claiming €42,200 in prize money. He also showed great form at the 2007 UK Poker Tour, securing 3rd place in the £1K No-Limit Hold ‘em Main Event to earn £21,900. All told, Roberto has earned over $300K playing in live tournaments and is 5th on the Wales All Time Money List.

Outside of poker, Roberto has a strong interest in soccer. Although the injury that started him on the road to poker prevents him from playing, he remains an avid supporter. He also maintains an active role in his family’s award-winning fish and chips restaurant in Wales, which has been thriving for over 30 years.

You can join Roberto at the tables on Full Tilt Poker.
